Sax Education at The Fleece Bristol on Wednesday 25 Nov 2026

with the Bristol University Jazz Orchestra Big Band!

Get ready to groove when three of Bristol’s funkiest bands return for ‘Sax Education’ at The Fleece on November 25th, 2026.

The first lesson is from the Jazz Funk and Soul Society, whose house band will be playing some funky jams and soulful vocal numbers. Next up is the Bristol University Jazz Orchestra, a 35+ piece big band packing a punch with jazz classics and dancefloor-fillers. And last but not least, for the final exam, the Bristol Hornstars take the stage, playing some old favourites, some new favourites, and some tunes so insane you’ll wish you’d done the reading for them.

‘Sax Education’ celebrates the rich and varied history of jazz. From ‘30s swing to The Beatles, this course has something for everybody.

With impressive solos, brilliant arrangements and a whole syllabus of great tunes, this is one lecture you won’t want to skip.
